Just like that, sweet Ruth is a one year old! This spunky red head came to me for her newborn portraits in my Benton, LA studio one year ago. I’ve had the pleasure of watching her grow on my Grow with Me plan. It is just fantastic to meet a tiny, squishy newborn then watch her blossom into a curious six month old, and then to see her personality really pop at her one year session! One special thing I offer for clients on my Grow with Me plan is a 10x20 storyboard that documents a portrait from each of their milestones with me this past year. I’ve included a picture of Ruth’s storyboard for everyone to see. It really highlights the progression from a newborn, to a six month old sitter, to a one year old! I have a lot of fun with these progression portraits. Some families choose to pick a stuffed animal, or a special hat, or other prop to use in progression portraits so the storyboard has a cohesive element that shows off the size change of the child.
One year portraits call for celebration! At Elaine Pierce Photography, we like to include the entire family for one year portraits! Sibling portraits and family portraits are important to catch as the tiniest member of the family hits a huge milestone! The one year mark is more than just a birthday. It is a milestone for the entire family. Lots of change occurs when a new baby joins the family, so we believe in big celebrations when the little one’s birthday rolls around!
